Obituary for William M. Myles

William M. Myles, 93 of Beckley, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. Born August 1, 1929, in Naomi, WV, he was the son of the late Millie Faini and William T. Myles.
Bill spent many years as a bachelor, attending college and serving in the United States Navy for four years during this time. He went on to marry the love of his life Katie and have his two daughters, Kelli and Allison. He worked hard to support and provide for his family as a self-employed owner of a grocery store and landlord. As the owner of a grocery store and landlord he never stopped trying to help people who needed it, even when it meant he would take a loss. He had a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. He went on to build his dream home, “the big house” where he raised his family and where his best memories were made. He loved entertaining friends and family at his home.
Over the years, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, working outside at the “big house”, reading, shooting pool, playing ping pong, and going to the YMCA where he worked out and made friendships he maintained throughout the years.
Bill was most proud of his family. He loved his wife, daughters, son-in-laws, and grandsons more than anything. He wore many titles throughout the years but I do believe “Poppy” was his favorite.
Bill was the beloved Husband of Katie Myles of Beckley; loving Dad of Kelli Austin and her husband Gary of Fort Worth, TX and Allison Venable and her husband Randy of Beckley, WV; Poppy to Joshua Austin, Nicholas Austin and wife Kaylee, Zachary Austin, all of Fort Worth, TX, Myles Venable of Morgantown, WV and Ethan Venable of Beckley, WV; sisters Regina Keadle and her husband Tom of Fl and Betty Ratliff (deceased); numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday, September 17th at KC Events, 1697 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, WV.
High Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
