Obituary for Wallace Velman "Wally" Amick Jr.
Wallace “Wally” Velman Amick Jr., 63, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Plateau Medical Center. Wally was born on July 9, 1959, in Oak Hill to Wallace Velman Amick Sr. and Janet Frances Marshall Long.
Wally attended Calvary Baptist Church. He was a roofer by trade. Loved the outdoors, cliff jumping into the lake and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his father, Wally is preceded in death by his sisters Arline (Amick) Guice and Marvella (Amick) Lawhorn.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Janet long, first & last girlfriend Diana Richardson, brothers Kelvin Amick and Timothy Amick, sisters Dreama (Amick) Flint, Linda (Amick) Tincher, Sheila (Amick) Kyle and Marlene (Amick) LaMonica, daughter Elizabeth Amick, son Michael Fiels, grandchildren, cousins, many nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on October 21, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill with Pastor Greg Swisher officiating. In keeping with Wally’s wishes he will be cremated following the funeral service.
Visitation will be held on October 21, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the church.
High Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
