Obituary for Thomas Lee Sims Jr.
Rev. Thomas Lee Sims,Jr., 91 of Fayetteville passed Friday November 20, 2020 at Plateau Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born March 19, 1929 in Shrewsbury, WV he was the son of the late Thomas Lee, Sr. and Lottie Gould Sims.
Mr. Sims was a former employee of Alpha Celluoicse and retired from Eureka Company, both in Bloomington, IL. He was an ordained Pentecostal Minister. He enjoyed reading his Bible, watching westerns and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved his dog Rosie.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Nichols Sims; four brothers, Frank, Lee, Grover and Robert Sims; one sister, Ruth
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Sims with who he lived of Fayetteville and Tina Callahan of Summersville, WV; grandsons, Anthony Houchin (Katie) and Joey Callahan, both of Summersville, WV and Brandon Callahan of Morgantown, WV; great grandchildren, Jaden, Greyson and Braxton Houchin; Several nieces and nephews including special nephews, Mike Perry (Paulette), Vernon Perry (Ruby), Harold Perry (Margaret) and special niece, Pam Moses.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2020 at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of departure for the graveside.
CDC guidelines will be adhered to for all attending the services with masks required and social distancing.
