Sue was my mom, Janet Justice best friends growing up along with Arbutus Howell Vance. They were like three peas in a pod, always together! I remember this one time in the late 1960s my had her wringer wager pulled out into the back porch doing the laundry. Mom had stepped into the kitchen and was about to sit on mom’s chair. Now mind you I was only about 7 or 8 at the time. Just as Sue was about to sit on that chair I jerked it right out from under her and she’ll fell onto the porch! She screamed and momma came running to see what was the was the matter. I was laughing like crazy. I thought it was so funny. Well, needless to say , my momma didn’t. She grabbed me by the arm and said, “What do you think you’re doing? You could have broken her back?” Well I got what I deserved, a good spanking and sent to my room for a couple of hours!! Sue didn’t get hurt, but my pride sure did! It was a lesson I’ve never forgotten. I never did that to anyone ever again!
Sue was so special to our family and my mom cherished her friendship greatly. They kept in touch over the years even after we moved to Ohio.
When I had my first daughter I named her after her. Amanda Sue.
Sue touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten!
Sending hugs and love to her family 💙💙💙🌻🌹🌷🌼🌸💐🌺🥀
