Steven V. Bainer “Stevie” of Fayetteville, WV reunited with many family members and loved ones on February 29, 2020.
Stevie was born September 7, 1977 in Tacoma Park, MD. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1995. He became employed with Nelson Brothers and worked there many years as Head Blaster of a blasting crew, followed by employment with WV Alloys.
After learning how to fish at the age of 3, Stevie spent his life trout fishing and bass fishing. He won many cash prizes in bass tournaments.
In his younger years he loved spending time with the Dial family at the hunting camps, camping at Brookside, his years being a camper/counselor at 4-H camp and the many hours spent on the creek bank at Beckwith.
Some of his best times were spent at family get togethers fishing and hunting with family members and bear hunting with his buddies.
What he loved more than anything in the world and was most proud of were his two beautiful daughters Kaitlin and Allison. They were the love of his life. He loved taking them to the beach, camping, fishing, playing softball, coon hunting, bear hunting, big bonfires and making them laugh until they cried.
Stevie was so good and kind to all the kids in the family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Left to cherish his memories include his beautiful daughters Kaitlin Elizabeth Bainer of Morgantown, WV and Allison Nicole Bainer of
Fayetteville WV, parents Steve and Karen Bainer of Fayetteville, WV, sister Cheryl Wood of Fayetteville, WV, nephew and niece Van and Ava Wood of Fayetteville, WV and Poppaw Robert Hanshew of Danese, WV. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will miss him so very much.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 8 in the chapel of High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Mack Canterbury officiating.
Friends may call from 1:00 pm until time of service.
The family would like to thank the staff of Raleigh General Hospital ER, 2 South, Stepdown Respiratory and Cath Lab for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Stevie while he was hospitalized.

Oh the memories! Swimming in the creek, jumping rocks and playing in the woods at Beckwith. Riding our bikes and running around all up and down Lively Street, and of course, Camp! Our hearts are breaking now as there is so much we will miss about you. We will always remember your laughter and good heart.

I am so sorry you must endure another loss. Grief is never easy for anyone with a heart such as yours, Karen. Your life was enriched while he was here. One day there will be no more tears, and no more loss.

My heart breaks hearing of your passing. I have many fond memories of Steven or as many knew him as Tank. I remember spending many years with him at 4H camp. He was the most popular person there due to his extreme personality and kindness. He could always make me laugh no matter what. You will ne greatly missed my friend but this is not a goodbye but a see you later. I love you good friend. My deepest condolences and prayers to Steven's family.

My heart hurts as I've lost another cousin. Stevie was such a wonderful guy. He was always smiling and having fun. I will remember all the good times we shared while we were growing up including swimming and fishing. My sincere sympathies are extended to Karen, Steve, Cheryl and Stevie's wife and kiddos.
