Obituary for Ronald Hobart Wheeler
Ronald Wheeler, 65, of Beckley passed away on Tuesday October 5, 2021 at the Bower’s Hospice House following a long illness. Ron was born on June 19, 1956 in Beckley, WV to Samuel and Wilma Hawks Wheeler Sr.
A lifelong resident of the Beckley area, he was employed by Arch Coal as a mining dispatcher until his retirement in 2019. Ron's life was all about music. An accomplished bassist, he had played with numerous bands throughout his life with his brothers, cousins and countless friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Rick and David Wheeler.
Left to cherish his memory include his 4 children April Wheeler of Fayetteville, Mandy Farruggia (Nick), Daylan Wheeler and Terra Wheeler (and her mother Tiffney) all of Beckley, two grandchildren Bentley and Madison Farrugia; two brothers and their families, James Wheeler Jr. and wife, Jane, Randall Wheeler and wife, Cassie; special nephew Brian “Nuggs” Wheeler and special cousin Dennis “Denny” Hawks.
The Wheeler family would like to thank the nurses at the Bower’s Hospice House for their exceptional care and compassion.
Graveside rites will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 1:00pm.
