Robert “Bob” Lee Thompson, 88, of Oak Hill, WV passed away, Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at Plateau Medical Center. Bob was born on December 21, 1933, in Minden, WV to Edmond and Hattie Treadway Thompson.
Bob worked for many years as a strip mine at Great Mountain Coal Company in Page, WV and drove an 18-wheeler for Brownies in Beckley, WV. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents Bob is preceded in death by his two sons Robert Lee Thompson Jr and David Allen Thompson: siblings Ruth, Dorothy, Bill, Frank, Francis, and Arthur.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 66 years, Martha L. Yarber Thompson; daughters Lisa Bolon (Edward) of Oak Hill and Bethany Hunt (Brian)of Fayetteville; son Doug Thompson (Jennifer) of Oak Hill; brother Dan Thompson of Ohio; seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Edward Bolon officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park.
Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Thompson, Justin Weis, Brian Hunt, Brayden Hunt, Doug Thompson, and Marshall Buckland.
