Rebecca Wallace, 84, of Summerlee, West Virginia passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 8, 2021. Rebecca was born on March 18, 1937 in LaGrange, GA to the late John Henry Maffett Sr. and Annie Mae Owens. In addition to her parents, Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband Watson Wallace Jr.; son Velgamon Rondal Wallace; sisters Willie Mae Maffett; half siblings Andrew June Griggs and Walter Lee Phillips. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister Annie Jean Fisher, half siblings Solomon Fowler Jr. and Larry Fowler; 35 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Rebecca is survived by her nine children Marian Bernice Wallace, Stanford Eugene Wallace, Patricia Ann Greene, Del-Driguez Marales Wallace, Faith Marvada Berry, Phillip Matthias Wallace, Mary Rebekah Wallace-McDowell, Deborah Jackson and Elizabeth Sue Wallace. Mother was a prayer warrior. Our mother prayed for anyone who called her for prayer. It didn’t matter what time of day it was. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Rebecca was one of the founders of the West Virginia State Faith Mission serving the needs of the community until 1996. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at High Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
