Obituary for Lloyd Franklin Gilkey
Lloyd Franklin Gilkey, 86, of Oak Hill went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2022. Lloyd was born on February 9, 1936 to the late Alex Gilkey and Dorothy Pittman Mills. Lloyd had a love for old cars and motorcycles, but nothing compared to spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by his brothers Alex Gilkey Jr. and Alfred “Sonny” Gilkey; sisters Deloris Gilkey and Rosalie Weddeburn.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters Jacqueline Gilkey Hendricks (Matthew), Cheryl Gilkey both of Fayetteville, Candy Gilkey (Mark); sons Randy Gilkey (Chrissy) and Israel Gilkey of Oak Hill; eight grandchildren Josh, Lyndsey, Elijah, Peyton, Caleb, Eden, Chase and Jonathan Cantley; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In keeping with Lloyd’s wishes he will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
High Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family.
