Obituary for Linda Lee Cooper (Toney)

Linda Lee Toney Cooper born on July 18, 1942 in Carlisle, WV passed away on March 18, 2020. She was a very special person who had great compassion for people around her and treated everyone like family. She met and married the love of her life in Norfolk, VA when she was just 17 and spent the next several decades raising her family in Knotts Island, NC. She was a member of the Mountain View Church of God and frequently attended the Christian Life Center. Linda’s faith in God was her guiding light in all of the joys and heartbreaks during her time here on earth and continued guide her home to be with the Lord.
Linda is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Marvin Cooper; two children, Sandy Marshall and her husband George of Virginia Beach, VA and Marty Cooper and his wife Linda of Ocala, FL; grandchildren April Cooper and Nicholas Marshall; great grandchildren Isaiah Creed and Ariel Cooper; sisters Sue Lively and Pat Everett; brothers Alfred “Buddy” Toney, Ronnie Toney, and Darrell Toney. She is reuniting with her son, John and parents Alfred and Elsie Toney.
Linda’s family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to all of the caregivers at the Hospice House for their love and gentle support during her final day. To Jennie Nichols, we are grateful to you for bringing sunshine into her life during her recent medical challenges.
