Obituary for Leona Geraldine Arrington

Leona Geraldine Arrington, 93, of Pool, WV, met her husband Raymond & son Greg Arrington Sr. along with her daughter-in-law Dreama Johns at the gates of Heaven as she passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 25, 2022, surrounded by her 3 special blessings. She was born on April 27,1928 to the late Thomas and Esther Manning of Burnwell, WV.

Leona is proceeded in death by her husband Raymond Arrington, one son Greg Arrington Sr.; brothers Cecil, Dale, and Jr Manning; sisters Nelly Salters, Mary Giles, Bonnie Spencer, Maxine Pennington, and Irene Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory include her grandson Gregory Arrington Jr. of Pool, WV and his fiancé Crystal and her great grandson Caleb Hunter who loved her dearly, cared for her, and made special memories the last year and a half of her life. She was so loved and will forever be missed. She also leaves behind grandson Bryan Arrington of Oak Hill, WV, Bryan (Tabitha ) Evans of Victor ,WV; great granddaughter Skyler of SC, and one brother Robert "Bob" (late Pearl) Manning of Oak Hill, WV.

She leaves behind special nieces Sue Holley of Kingston, WV, Loretta Ramburg of Ravenswood, WV, and Brinda Willis (Bill) of Oak Hill, WV; nephews Butch Giles of Fayetteville, WV, and CC (Sharon) Manning Oak Hill, WV; very special friends of many years Junie and Skip King of Fayetteville, WV; several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Leona loved having company. It always put a smile on her face when her special friends Jan Settle and Kelly Giles came to visit. Both these ladies will forever hold a special place in Leona and our hearts. Gregory, Crystal, and Caleb would like to extend their love and appreciation to Jan and Kelly for all the loving and caring help they gave Leona. We would also like to thank EMS worker Austin Cruse for going above and beyond his call. Leona always referred to Austin as her "bodyguard". He became part of her family. Austin would visit with Leona even on his personal time. They held a special bond that was built from his caring touch.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, April 29, 2022, at High Lawn Funeral Home with Minister Bryan Evans officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
