Obituary for Lawrence Henry "Hank" Hicks Jr.

Lawrence “Hank” Henry Hicks Jr., 56, of Oak Hill passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Plateau Medical Center. Hank was born on August 16, 1965 to Lawrence Henry Hicks Sr. and Betty Jane Cox Hicks.

Hank, an Oak Hill High School graduate was a bus operator for the Fayette Co. Board of Education and Adventures on the Gorge. He had also been a former bus operator for ACE Adventures, security guard at the Resort at Glade Springs and former shipping team leader at Bright of America.

He enjoyed taking long drives all over WV discovering new places, new adventures and chasing down the history of the state by finding all the historical markers and covered bridges. Hank also enjoyed hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing and was passionate about researching, learning about and participating in Bushcraft (Wilderness Survival).

In addition to his parents Hank was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Baldwin and a niece Leeanna Baldwin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers Richard Snodgrass, Anthony Snodgrass, companion and family friend of 20 years, Deanna Albury, nephew Jeffery L. Baldwin, nieces Charlie Snodgrass, Amanda Nicole Snodgrass, Sara Jane Farinsky, Carri Ellen Snodgrass, Caitlyn Baldwin, Kristen Baldwin, Cassey Hill, Bailey Edwards, Paige Edwards, Taylor Edwards and a host of great nephews and nieces.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Ames Heights Bible Church.
Following the memorial service a celebration of his life will begin at 5:00 PM at Adventures On The Gorge Buffler's Pizzeria.

Hank will be cremated and his ashes entombed at a later date at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
