Obituary for Johnny M. Jones
Johnny Mose Jones, 82, of Winfield, WV, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at home. Johnny was born on August 25, 1939, in Tennessee to Fred and Mattie Jones.
Johnny was a General Superintendent in Heavy and Highway Construction specializing in bridge construction and a U.S. Army veteran with the rank of Corporal.
Johnny was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. But his favorite time spent was with family and especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra K. DeHart Jones; father and mother-in-law Billy and Glendine DeHart; grandson John Michael Jones II; sisters Pauline Walton and Margaret Silvey; brother Edgar Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons John Michael Jones (Michelle) and Fred Shannon Jones (Diana); daughters Louise Lattanzi (Lindsay), Tammy Coats (Kenneth) and Kim Belt; brothers and sisters Bobby Jones (Brenda), Roxie Seiber (J.A); grandchildren Garrett Jones, Haley Jones, Owen Jones, Isaiah Jones and Luke Jones; 17 nieces and nephews; 23 great nieces and nephews; 22 great-great nieces and nephews; one great-great-great on the way and many other friends and family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Pastor Jackie Pittman officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Care WV and the staff at Angel’s Touch for all of their care and support.
