James Melvin Auxier, 69 of Oak Hill, WV, died at his home Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Jim was born on October 13, 1952, in Charleston, WV to the late Emma Claywell Auxier and Willie Landon Auxier.
Jim was the greatest husband, dad, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a retired coal miner at Mingo Logan Coal and former pastor of the Oak Hill Church Of God Of Prophecy. Jim loved hunting and fishing. He was member of the Mossy Oak Hunt Club, loved his Mountaineers he cheered them on every game. He also enjoyed cutting his beloved grass.
In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by his sister Lenore Renzulli; four brothers-in-law Jimmy Dorsey, Bob Morris, Jackie Zickafoose and David Light; two nephews David Morris and Kevin Scarbro.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Marsha Zickafoose Auxier, daughter Karie Jennings (Russ) of Franklin, TN; son James M. Auxier II of Beckley, WV; brother Willie Auxier Jr. (Sonny); sisters Linda Auxier Dorsey (Jimmy) and Barbara Auxier Hollon (Cliff); grandchildren Kendra Jennings of Franklin TN, Hunter of Murfreesboro, TN, and Evan Kade of Franklin TN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who he loved very much.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at High Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Morris of Hugheston, WV officiating.
Friends may call on the family from 12:00 – 2:00 PM on November 14, 2021, at the funeral home.
