Obituary for Ira Lee Daniels

Ira Lee Daniels August 22, 1949 - June 1, 2022

Ira was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a brother, a father-in-law, a brother-in-law, and an all-out amazing person. Had you spent any time with him you should know the extent of his kindness and patience. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Julia A Daniels; son Tony R. Daniels (Carol Dean Daniels); brothers Gary Daniels and Frank Atkins and their extend families; sister-in-law Cindy Fitzwater; granddaughter Ginger P. Daniels and her partner Chris Blankenship; grandsons Michael Westfall, and Connor Westfall; great granddaughters Jaiden Blankenship and Holly Blankenship.

Ira was a great man who could make anything with his hands, never said no to any person in need, he was patient, understanding, and one of the most amazing husbands and father any person can ask for. He was a truly selfless human putting the needs of others above his own. Anyone who knew him knew this. He was one in a million and they broke the mold when they made him. Ira was a lifelong member of the UMWA risking his life every day to put food on the table for his family. He did the hardest job with no fear just the drive to provide for those who he loved.

Family was the most important thing in his life. He loved his family and did anything for any one of us. I had the most amazing father any son can ever ask for. The amount of support and giving he showed never ended. Dad always helped me with anything, from moving me all over the country, to driving me anywhere any time I asked when I was without means. He would load musical equipment, help me build my business, he designed solutions too my problems, and give me the freedom to be the person I am today. He will greatly be missed. The love he gave too anyone even a stranger was one of his greatest traits.

There are not enough words to describe how Amazing he truly was. Per his wishes, he donated his organs to help others who may need him. He requested there too be no services as he did not want the family to have to suffer any more pain than they already have. There will be a celebration of Ira’s life will be held at a later date. The family asks that people anyone who wishes to send flowers, to instead donate to the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society and if you see a person in need ask them if they need help as he did so many times.

Ira enjoyed reading, woodworking, helping and taking care of people. There was never a stranger in his life. He was a very talented that was his gift. The talents were endless, and his heart was so huge I don’t think he knew the word no. He could fix anything and spent his retired days taking care of the needs of so many in his community, mowing lawns, building custom furniture and just plain kindness, and understanding to others.
Ira Lee Daniels you will be missed and loved.
