Helen Hendrickson Protka, 97, passed on to her heavenly home on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Plateau Hospital, Oak Hill. Helen was born in Mt. Hope on August 28, 1924 to Ardie and Beluah Cadle Hendrickson. She spent most of her youth in Pax. We heard many stories of her walking to school on railroad tracks in the snow and rain. She moved to Oak Hill the year she started her senior year of high school. Here she met her future husband Carl, they married in October of 1942 and was married until he passed away in 1994. Helen was last of her family.
In addition to her parents Helen is preceded in death by her only son Robert Michael whom she lost in 2006; three brothers Russ, Jim, and Don and one sister Thelma Boyd.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters Patricia (Bo) LaRocco and Priscilla (Roger) Bleich; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Helen Staton and Betty Peters; many nieces and nephews. Her smile will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at High Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Meadows officiating.
Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
