Obituary for Grover Lee Adkins

Grover Lee Adkins, 85 of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Sunday May 15, 2022 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
He was born April 9, 1937 on Toney Hollow Road in Gatewood, WV and was the son of the late Earl Hirl and Livie Mae Smith Adkins. Grover was a coal miner and a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents Grover was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold Junior Adkins and wife, Nancy; Eddie Joseph Adkins, Joey Adkins, Franklin D. Adkins and wife Anna Mae; sister-in-law Debbie Adkins, brothers-in-law Paul Robinson, Bob Bills, Lenwood “Tready” Heath, Cotton Davis, James Pritt and Butch Gay.
Grover leaves behind his loving wife Janice Wanda Adkins, five children Grayson Skaggs and wife, Leah Ann of TX, Wanda Treadway and husband, Gary of Oak Hill, WV, Cynthia Skaggs and fiancé Robert Seay of Fayetteville, WV, Sandi Baumgardner and Jerry Adkins both of NC, grandchildren Heather Eckard, Jeremy Treadway, T.J.Wynne, Morgan Wynne, Seirra Seay, Landon Seay, Kaylee Lafferty, one great-grandchild Ashlyn Treadway; brothers Norman Ray Adkins and wife, Joyce of Kinston, NC, Bernice Dewey “Pete” Adkins and wife, Patty of MI, Calvin Adkins of Scarbro, WV; sisters Lula Mae Robinson Bills of Gatewood, WV, Bula Heath and Brenda Davis, both of Kinston, NC, Beatrice Jean “Jeannie” Tucker and husband, John, Shelia Pritt of Fayetteville, WV; sister-in-law Becky Adkins of Gatewood, WV and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be no service at this time, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
