Obituary for Edna Mae Thombs (Bowens)
Edna Mae Bowens Thombs, 80, of Oak Hill, passed away on February 7, 2020 after a long illness.
She was born April 16, 1939, at Portsmouth, OH, to the late Albert and Rose Algood Bowens.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert Robert Thombs, sons; Leroy, Richard and James Thombs, daughters; Ruth Thombs and Irma Cooper and siblings; Albert, Milford, Robert, John, Ronald Bowens, Jessie Fenker, Minnie Azell, Virginia Bradford, and Helen Hacker.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her daughters; Joyce A. Smith of OH, and Constance M. Payne of Lochgelly, WV, a beloved son, Ronald E. Thombs II and his wife Kimberly of Oak Hill, WV, 18 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her brother, Freddy Bowens of Portsmouth, OH and her dog, Little Angel.
Per Edna’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV.
