Obituary for Dean Rush Joines
Dean Rush Joines, age 91, of Oak Hill, WV and formerly of Sparta, NC passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022, at the Oak Hill Place in Oak Hill, WV. Dean was born on June 17, 1931, in Sparta, NC to the late Dent and Irene Osborne Joines.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Joines. Dean served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State in NC. Dean worked as a store and office manager for Lowe’s Home Improvement for 28 years. The last 35 years Dean spent his summers in Sparta, NC and his winters in Port Orange, FL.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, John Joines of Oak Hill, WV, Bryan Joines (Cathy) of Fayetteville, WV and daughter Cheryl Legg (Steve) of Oak Hill, WV; grandchildren, Lindsey Hartley (Clinton) of Canvas, WV, Kelsey Kimlin of Oak Hill, WV and T.J. Joines of Oak Hill, WV; great- grandchildren, Raven Joines and Anderson Hartley; mother of his children, Kay Eads Joines; cousins, Sue McBride, Carol Golden and Pat Wasson; dear friends, Terry Hall family and Max Boales.
The family request the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Dean at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Sparta, NC.
