Christinia “Chris” Shieler Law, 95, of Oak Hill, West Virginia went to her eternal home on Friday, October 1, 2021. Born September 27, 1926 at Minden, WV she was the daughter of the late Everett Wilson Shieler and Ethel Dolin Shieler.
As a 1945 graduate of Oak Hill High School, Christinia began her career as a meat cutter at Quickles Market on Virginia Street in Oak Hill which later became the Midget Market. She worked at this occupation until retirement.
One of her favorite things to do was help other people. She was a volunteer at the Fayette County Food Pantry. You could always find her making and selling hot dogs in front of Kroger’s to help raise money for the Food Pantry. She was an active member of the AARP. She was a member of the Beta Theta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi. She was also a volunteer member of the RSVP. In her spare time, she liked to embroidery. She was always there to help anyone. Even during her 80’s, she was still driving other seniors to doctor’s appointments. She was a member of the Scarbro Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Saundie Smith of Oak Hill, her son, Thomas Everett and wife Kathy of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, daughter Donna Nix of Fayetteville, WV and son, Bryan Law and wife Tammy of Fredericksburg VA and her sister-in-law Betty Shieler. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Shannon Smith (Traci) of Oak Hill, Christy Smith Wasson (Mike) of Princeton, Indiana, Carrie Law Miller (Jimmy) of Virginia Beach, VA, Ritchie Law of Rutherfordton, North Carolina, Matthew Nix of Falls Church, Virginia, Mark Nix (Tina) of Fayetteville, West Virginia, and Sarah Law of Fredericksburg, Virginia, also 9 Great Grandchildren, Lindsay Adkins, Kyle “Bubba” Smith, Caitlyn Wasson Moline, Charles “CJ” Wasson, Hannah Nix, Katy Law, Isabel “Izzy” Law, Bryson Nix and Ava Nix. She also had 8 Great Great Grandchildren, Curtis “CJ” Adkins, Whitney Adkins, Luke Adkins, Eli Merritt, Liam Dossett, Ethan Adkins, Elle Moline and Everett Moline, as well and many additional family members.
In addition to her parents, Christinia was preceded in death by sister, Mary Neal and brothers Edward Shieler and Everette “Junior” Shieler and her Grandson Andy Nix.
Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7th in the Chapel at High Lawn Funeral Home with burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until time of service.
