Obituary for Carolyn Kay Gibson Buckley
Carolyn Kay Gibson Buckley, 51, of Oak Hill, WV went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at her home. Kay was born on August 23, 1970 in Beckley, WV to the late Stanton Ile Gibson and Carolyn Lou Maynor Landers.
Kay was a member of Gospel Lighthouse church in Fayetteville, WV. She loved to sing in church and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Kay was very strong in her faith and loved God with all her heart. Kay loved life. She always had a smile on her face, spreading joy and wanting others to laugh with her. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and wife.
In addition to her father Stanton Gibson, Kay was preceded in death by her grandparents Brack and Helen Gibson, grandparents Frank and Barbara Maynor, grandfather Okey Landers and mother-in-law Pauline Buckley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 28 years Juddie Buckley of Oak Hill, WV; sons Travis Buckley and his wife Kelley of Charleston, WV, and Joshua Buckley and wife Tiffany of Montgomery, WV; father-in-law Fred Buckley of Mt. Hope, WV; mother and father Stephen and Carolyn Landers of Gatewood, WV; grandmother Donna Landers of Cunard, WV; sisters Robin Gibson Cobb and her husband Mike of Oak Hill, WV and Janet Stover and her husband Allen of Gatewood, WV; brother-in-law Steven Buckley and his wife Lisa; sister-in-law Marvona Poff and her husband Michael and Lazenda Kees; several nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends that loved her dearly.
Services will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in the chapel of High Lawn Funeral Home in Oak Hill, WV with burial to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family may visit the family from 10:00 am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations to the family may be sent to High Lawn Funeral Home.
