Obituary

Billy Joe Johnson, 85, of Mt Hope, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020. Bill was born in Logan County, WV to the late Marvin and Carrie Johnson.
Bill worked as a brick/stone mason and was also a veteran of the Air Force. He was stationed in Alaska and Korea. Bill attended Kilsythe Baptist Church and Maple Fork Baptist Church. He loved walking Max, his dog, on the New River Trails as well as fishing and deer hunting.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Johnson of New York, and sister, Sue Ann Workman of Virginia.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ethel Johnson, his children; Teri Clay of Mt. Hope, WV, Steve Johnson, of Harpers Ferry, WV, and Mike and Nancy Johnson of Mt Hope, WV. He will also be missed by his grandchildren; Savannah Johnson and Shara Mae Lozier and very good friends, Jerry Elswick of Pax and Earl Williams of Maple Fork.

Always had fond memories of Billy Joe growing up. I’m sure it was just a careless oversight by the whole family to leave his loving sister Pauline out of the obituary. She resides in Tennessee with her husband Doug.
