Anna Bateman, 89, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Bowers Hospice House. Anna was born May 18, 1933, to the late Frank and Viola Swartz in Gallagher, WV. She graduated in 1951 from East Bank High School in East Bank, WV. Being in the choir was one of her fondest memories.
Anna married Theodore “Ted” Bateman on May 29, 1954. They had two children: Kathy and Tammy. She loved to sing, write poetry, and grow beautiful flowers. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren had a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents Anna is preceded in death by her husband Ted.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Kathy (Keith) McClung and Tammy Naylor; three grandchildren Megan (Edward) Elmore; Joshua (Lindsay) McClung; Eric (Rachel) McClung; great grandchildren Brandy Nicole Elmore, Ruby Rose Elmore, Lindsey LeeAnn Elmore, Brooklyn Mae Elmore, Serenity Christine Elmore, Evie Dell Saige Elmore, Zane Douglas McClung, and Lillian Marie McClung; sister Mary (Bob) Lokey; brothers Dennis (Natalie) Swartz and Mitchell (Judy) Swartz.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at High Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Sam Lambert officiating.
High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel is assisting the family.
