Obituary for Allen E Lester
Allen E Lester, 68, of Pemberton, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Raleigh General Hospital following a period of declining health. Allen was born on January 22, 1955, to the late Howard Lacy Lester and Lila Virginia Lester.
In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years Mae Jacqueline Lester, and brother Kenneth Wayne Lester.
Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Gregory Allen Lester and wife Ashleigh of Charleston, WV, and Stephen Howard Lester and wife Lucy of Fireco, WV; grandchildren, Kyrsten, Kaylee, Victor, and Jewel; brother Keith Lester; sisters Carolyn Osborne, Marlene Duncan, Mary Lester, Brenda Vass, and Linda Markland; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members including Carol Lester and Patty and Dwight Whitenack.
Allen was employed by WV Coal Mines for 38 years with the majority of those years as a foreman. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved being in his woods on his 4-wheeler, doing carpentry work, reading, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. But most of all, Allen loved being with his grandkids and sons. Allen is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His family and friends will cherish, love, and miss him forever.
A private service will be held to honor Allen’s memory.
